I am a born again christian, married with two kids.I live in Kaptembwa Estate.
Professionally I am a nursery school teacher , but currently I am a business lady. After resigning as a nursery school teacher, I enrolled for a tailoring and embroidery training after which I started my own business on the same.Apart from doing business, I am also a musician.I have recorded an album (WASTAHlLI) with songs such as Enzy project and and Wastahili, both by Purity Achieng. The Songs are available on You Tube.
My business involves tailoring and embroidery.I make bed covers, cution pouches, curtains, table mats, bags and bead work. These goods are in high demand since they are almost like necessities to various homes in Kenya. My customers prefer my goods to those of other competitors due to my competitive pricing and high quality products.I consider my business profitable due to the fact that my monthly income from the business exceeds total monthly expenses. My total monthly sales is approximately kshs18,000 and a total monthly expense of around kshs 7,000, leaving a net profit of approximately kshs 11,000. Being in a low income area the business is faced with a risk of theft.
The loan will be used mainly on the purchase of tailoring and embroidery materials, which are very essential for the running of the business.
The main tailoring materials include sewing threads, kitenge, satin, tetron cotton, tie and dye materials, buttons, sponges, linings and zips.On embroidery, the main materials include beads, laces, embroidery threads and embroidery decorations.
