About Me

Am Female Kenyan citizen living in Kericho who can communicate very well in English, kiswahili and kalenjin (native). I'm a second born in a family of five. Started my early education in the year 1996 and completed my primary education in the year 2003. Joined my secondary education in the year 2004 and completed my secondary education in the year 2008. Joined college to pursue a diploma course in co-operative management. Kericho county is a place that is normally favorable for doing agricultural activities like farming and rearing of livestock. Both of my parents are farmers and they have educated all of us through their farming activities. During my free time I like listening to gospel music, travelling and helping the needy in the society. I developed an interest in farming where I used to help my parents in the farm. Our farm is divided into two where the first part is used for tea plantation and the other half for the rearing of livestock and horticultural farming like planting vegetables, maize, beans, tomatoes, cassava and potatoes.

My Business

My main source of income will through the plantation of vegetables on a one acre farm. the demand for vegetables is high in the nearby area and institutions. To plant these vegetables normally takes a period of one month to mature. The selling price per sack is $10 and one acre can produce about 30 sacks that can give a total of $300 per acre in one month the expenditure is normally through the purchase of pesticide control, labor cost, fertilizer and transportation cost. The total overhead cost will be around $50. This can generate a profit of $250 per month, so repaying the loan at the right time will be very easy. The crop rotation will be exercise to maintain the fertility of land. Alternative vegetable like cabbages and kales will be introduced to give a variety of choice to our customers, also the timing of planting will be very essential to avoid wastage and offer competitive na d quality products in the market

Loan Proposal

The following seedling will be required vegetables, beans, cassava and potatoes. so the requested loan will be used to purchase the because our farm is divided into two where the first part is used for tea plantation and the other half for the rearing of livestock and horticultural farming like planting vegetables, maize, beans, tomatoes, cassava and potatoes.Vegetable seedling and fertilizers. The requested loan from Zidisha will be used in the purchase of quality seedling from Kenya seed company. The transport and labor cost will be purely be catered from this loan that will be advanced from the zidisha lenders. The preparation of the land is currently on going ready for the plantation season in the coming month of February. The approximated cost for these seedlings will be about $100, because the cost of potatoes seedling quite very high at a bout $25, for the vegetables at $15, Fertilizers at a cost of $25 and beans at an approximated cost of $10
