I have a diploma in business management and a trained secretary. Currently, I have begun a chicken farming business since I inherited a piece of land from my parents. My area of residence is Syokimau which is a big backyard. I started this business after being gifted 3 hens and 2 roosters. I have kept them for a whole year mainly for just eggs for home use. I recently started doing research on chicken farming and I found it to be very lucrative. I have so far expanded it and have a total of 2 roosters, 8 hens and 41 chicks.
So I plan to expand this business to sell eggs and chicken meat. Currently, I am getting 8 eggs every day which means it takes 4 days for a tray to fill up. So in a week, I have approximately 2 trays of eggs. I thereafter sell the eggs. Each tray fetches $6.50 so in a week I get $13. I spend $6 on feeds which last for two weeks. I also supplement the food with a garden I have in the backyard where they feed on greens. I already have the chicken coop which is spacious and laying points, sickbay in case of sickness. I also have feeders and drinkers. I am looking to get financial assistance to be able to buy more feeds especially for the chicks and also medication that is needed at times. My research showed that for this venture to be profitable, it needs the chicken to be more so that one can get more on eggs.
I have been selling second hand clothes and I would like to expand my business further. I have been selling online and I would like to ask for funds so I can put up a website. This will be easier because people can simply go to the website and browse to see what I have and then choose and pay online and goods will be delivered. I have done research and I have found that most people trust websites more as opposed to social media platforms. Advertising will be easier as I can make a catalogue and send out to customers through email anytime I have new arrivals which I always restock weekly. It can also appear on other social media platforms like Facebook ads which is a pop up that appears on a Facebook page. This will also mean I can do deliveries countrywide with the customer having to pay delivery charges. This means that the customer base will be wider. It is also less expensive way to advertise as compared to print media, TV or radio. Also there will be no time limit of purchasing products because the website is operational 24/7. A website also allows customer to access information or questions that they might have. This can be done through the FAQ section where they can read through to understand how the company operates better. It is because of this that I am requesting a loan to be able to help me set up a website.
