About Me

I am a 37 year old man, leaving in machakos county in kenya.
I am the fifth born, being the last born of my mother.I have 3 brothers and a sister.
I am schooled up to college, with a diploma in computer repair and maintenance. This was informed by my interest in tinkering with machines.
I have an interest in agriculture, an especially horticulture. I get to farm fast moving vegetables and sell them to customers. This has been informed by by upbringing, coming from an agriculturally dependent family as well as the scarcity of formal employment in my locality.
I do love the outdoors, getting to hike,do nature walks as well as travel.this informs me by observing/learning how people make use of local available resources as well as be informed as to the cultural and social aspects of life of the different communities I get to mingle with.

My Business

I have been doing horticulture farming for about five years now.o will say its a profitable and involving venture.
I have been planting
1) cabbages
2)spinaches and kales
3)peppers
4)butternuts
5)watermelons

I would say the greatest challenge has been availability of a steady supply of water in the farm.the river I utilise has been damed upstream thus reducing the amount of water available to do irrigation.
I have come across hydroponics agriculture and have my interest set to try it out. This system of farming will reduce for me the amount of water to use as well as be able to utilise the vertical space in the green house thus ensuring that my budget for water to irrigate is reduced and have an increase in production within a faster duration.

Loan Proposal

I do appreciate the assistance fronted thus far by the zidisha community.
Last time I was here I was asking for a loan to set up a hydroponics test bed for growing vegetables and cooking herbs.
Along the way I came across a deal for a piece of land I couldn't pass and diverted the funds there.
Now I come back to bring my dream for a hydroponics setup back to reality.
Please do make my dream a reality.
Thank you in advance.

    Hello,
Do allow me to pass my regards to you all.
I trust you are well, despite the Corona virus pandemic.I am keeping well.
I am experiencing a cashflow problem here, instigated by slow business as well as delay of receipts from business already transacted.
I do register my pain of not being able to have cleared my pending loan by this time.
I come seeking to be allowed to my the reduced repayments .In the very near future,I know I will be clear of my pending loan. Please do bear.
    Thank you.

I take this chance to salute you all.I do appreciate your confidence in the proposals i post here and your generous funding of the same ideas i share here.
Previously i shared an idea about venturing into hydroponic agriculture and you bought the idea.
I would like to say that its a new challenge that i do intent to see through and get to learn along the way;failure is not an option on this.
So far i have taken baby steps into the venture and i would like to report that the persley and coriander i have propagated is putting a smile on my face.I have been selling into to few of my neighbours and hope to grow the production slowly and surely as i increase the production.
The creative part of me is learning how to balance the crop nutrients to include (the portions and durations to impact the crops) as well how to ensure that the medium is not water logged.
In the near future i hope to share and maybe help a needy member of the community who ventures down this route.
Thank you once more and i do appreciate you all.

Hello, trust this finds you all well.
Financial flow have hindered my ability to make timely repayments in the past 2 weeks.
I pray to be permitted to reduce the amount for the next 5 weeks as I restructure my finances.
    Thanks in advance for understanding.

      Hello John,
I saw your thread in the forum. Purity ever asked about this matter through her help page and the staff answered that it is not allowed to pay the loan with credit risk. As the director said that credit risk replacing the MLF, I think the staff should allow us to pay the remaining loan with the refundable credit risk that borrower have made. But, to make it sure, I would advice to to consult directly to staff from your help page, just pick payment not credited to my account/interest to be a VM/interest to be CM (just avoid ticket that direct you to make a thread in the forum), so you could talk to them privately.

    Hello,
Hope this finds you all well.Allow me to update you on the progress of my project thus far.
I will be honest and say that it has been a trying time, trying to do agriculture on a novel way.I will also not hesitate to say that i have also had fun while setting up the physical structure of the improvised green house as well as the troughs for holding the plants.
I have used saw dust as my medium. This was informed by my initial tests using buckets.
The greatest challenge has been knowing how to mix plant nutrients as they aren't available premixed in my locale.
So what plants have i planted? I started with two cooking herbs;fenugreek and coriander.
I am I there yet?No. My production is a bit limited by my trials but as I am getting the flow,i believe that in the near future i will be producing a substantial product to sale to the market.
Will keep on updating on the progress of the project.Thank you for the patience.

    Hello?
The rainy season has delayed over here and it has really affected my vegetables in the farm as well as costs in preparing the farm in anticipation of planting again.
I seek a reduction of my repayments for about a month as I forsee things improving then.
    Thanks in advance

Thank you very much for believing in my projects.
The generosity of the zidisha community never ceases to amaze me.
I intent to purchase plastic piping that I will slice into two and using timber straws as planting medium.
This will afford me a media to (start) plant fast growing cooking herbs:corriender starts.
The plastic pipes will be layered to maximize on the space as well as provide a sustain supply of the herbs.
In the fullness of time,I will have a mixture of different herbs being produced through this system as well as the pure hydroponics of having water infused with minerals though that time growing vegetables that are in demand in the market;kale, spinach and lettuce.
May the seed planted grow into a big tree providing food, shelter and raw materials for other projects.
A million thanks from me to you
