About Me
I have a diploma in business management and a trained secretary. Currently, I have begun a chicken farming business since I inherited a piece of land from my parents. My area of residence is Syokimau which is a big backyard. I started this business after being gifted 3 hens and 2 roosters. I have kept them for a whole year mainly for just eggs for home use. I recently started doing research on chicken farming and I found it to be very lucrative. I have so far expanded it and have a total of 2 roosters, 8 hens and 41 chicks.
My Business
So I plan to expand this business to sell eggs and chicken meat. Currently, I am getting 8 eggs every day which means it takes 4 days for a tray to fill up. So in a week, I have approximately 2 trays of eggs. I thereafter sell the eggs. Each tray fetches $6.50 so in a week I get $13. I spend $6 on feeds which last for two weeks. I also supplement the food with a garden I have in the backyard where they feed on greens. I already have the chicken coop which is spacious and laying points, sickbay in case of sickness. I also have feeders and drinkers. I am looking to get financial assistance to be able to buy more feeds especially for the chicks and also medication that is needed at times. My research showed that for this venture to be profitable, it needs the chicken to be more so that one can get more on eggs.
Loan Proposal
Having been doing this for more than a year now, I would like to venture out to women cosmetics as this is a business that has been picking up in Kenya. Items include perfumes, body lotion, makeup, weaves, wigs et cetera. I would also like to try a few hair products with natural hair being the niche. Most African women are now going natural when it comes to hair and the demand for these products is high. With a loan of 85 dollars, I would like to purchase a few items to test out the market and also to know what the type of brands customer prefer. I would like to purchase really high quality brands as more women are willing to purchase genuine products. Also the demand of weaves, wigs and braids is on the increase. Women are willing to spend more when it comes their hair. I expect my profits to increase because the demand is there already.
