About Me

Am a community youth leader championing other young farmers on matters of better agricultural practices. Main focus is on small scale vegetable farmers with most of the youth having less than a hectare of land. I negotiate with agrovets on better rlrices of input and seeds to ensure fellow farmers get the best of deals in the market.
My goal is to form a cooperative for value addition to enhance productivity and profitability

My Business

My source of income comes from consulting on matters farming and sale of farm produce. I also engage in poultry farming which add onto my income while reducing the cots of inputs as I use some produce from this venture in crop farming for example manure.

Loan Proposal

I intend to buy raw materials for formulating my own feeds hence cutting the costs of feeding my poultry. This loan will help me in ensuring I formulate and test my feeds with certified organizations.

Thank you for advancing this loan as it will go a long way in helping me buy some drip irrigation materials with the ultimate goal of ensuring an all year round farming calendar.
A drip irrigation system in my farm is sustainable due to its proper utilization of the available water resources. This will ensure water is only used on the plant and wastage us reduced to a greater extent.
    Thank you for your assistance

    Hello,
Thank you for finding my project partially. It's been a step at a time and all is going well.
However, this time round I have received an amount less than what I usually receive on the same credit base. Is it that the lending risk fee increased or what exactly happened?
I would like to be in the know because it means I will be paying 32% of the total amount as credit risk fee which is a bit too expensive for my project based on the returns.
    Thank you for the support

      You can find an explaination of the fees in the Zidisha forums. Here is just a partial explaination;

Like optional Members Loan Fund payments, the credit risk fee payments are refundable to the borrower once the loan is repaid.

The credit list payment amount now varies depending on each borrower's repayment history and credit risk level.

Margaret and Kennedy, please check the "Announcements" section in the Forum, where the Director posted that the Credit-Risk Fee only is refundable for loans taken out prior to December 17, 2018.

Also, Kennedy, please be aware that although the two (2) people currently on the Staff also are lenders, most lenders are *not* on the Staff and cannot help you with anything technical, or usually with anything administrative either.

Therefore, your borrower-lender Discussion page isn't the correct place to try to reach the Staff (a/k/a Team: www.zidisha.org/team), because the Staff almost never visits these borrower pages.

Your borrower-lender Discussion page is for you and your lenders to talk to each other about your projects and your life in general, and theirs, too, if they wish to share. It also is for mentors to post messages for you and/or for your lenders.

To reach the Staff, though, please always click on the HELP link in your account. Thank you.

    Hello,
It has been a good run with this platform on financial assistance for my venture and through the same, I have been able to reach out to some young people in my community through empowerment.
I am making a difference by offering good produce for everyday consumption while at the same time ensuring several families are fed through the wages that I pay my colleagues.

    Thank you

    Hello,
The previous loan was used to pay my casual labourers who did a good job ploughing my land.
They finished the work in a week and I paid them promptly. They were very happy and motivated.
The new loan am seeking will be used to purchase some seed trays as am trying to minimize the loss of seeds from direct sowing or sowing in the open field. These trays will go a long way in reducing my pre-planting losses.

Hello, hope this finds you well. The previous loan helped me in securing some seeds I needed in my farm.
The rains are here with us and it is a good time to sow so as to allow my vegetables form a good root system.
