About Me
My name is Jane kuria. I am a mother of two boys named David and Andrew. They are aged 7 and 5 years old respectively. I live in Nyeri county in the middle of Kenya. It is at the slopes of Mt. Kenya. The main economic activity here is farming. There is tea and coffee cash crops too. I come from a family of ten. Parents, 5 brothers and 2 sisters.
My Business
I own a small pub in Karatina in Nyeri town. It is a rural part of the country and the pub does not make much as farmers are busy people. It is a place for farmers to relax after work. Revenue is about US 400 dollars every month. I am also assisting my mother in farming as she is not able now at her age.
Loan Proposal
I am seeking a loan of about $500 to be able to continue the next phase of my vegetable farming. The amount will go to the following
1. Manure $100
2. installing underground pipes and taps $150
3. Sprinklers and hose pipes &40
4. Seeds $80
5. Labour $100
6.Miscellaneous $30
I will be able to repay my loan after selling the vegetables I had planted earlier and also share the proceeds with my mum. I expect to make a profit of $80 a week from the sale of these vegetables.
