About Me

My name is Tom Gard. I hail from Bware Village in Migori County. I am a freelance writer by profession. I offer my online writing service through http://tomgardwritersbureau.kbo.co.ke. Apart from writing as a business, i also offer training to upcoming freelance writers. I have so far been able to train 25 young school leavers who are now actively involved in writing as a business. These are people who now write independently.

I have largely been involved in providing writing service to both individuals and companies with online businesses, something that i have been doing for the past seven (7) years.

I have so far received two Zidisha loans, which i have repaid successfully. The loans have enabled me to improve on both quality and quantity of my writing service and i am very much thankful to all Zidisha lenders who have funded my past loan applications.

My Business

My writing business brings in enough revenue that i will be able to use in servicing advanced loan. In addition to business earnings, i also receive a significant amount of money from the writing training service that i offer. This goes a long way in boosting my revenue. I am therefore in a good position to service advanced loan(s).

I used the fisrt Zidisha loan to buy a used PC, which has done me good. Not only have i been able to write more; i have been able to meet deadlines as set by my clients. I now wish to have a second loan that i will use to buy a another used PC and a printer.

I am a highly committed individual with a strong belief in everything that i do. This is evident in how i ventured into freelance writing as a business before naturing it into a fully-fledged business that now brings in revenue.

Loan Proposal

Hallow to Zidisha lenders. This is my third Zidisha loan application. I used the first two loans to improve both the quality and quantity of my writing business. The business is now performing extremely well and is self sustaining.

I now wish to diversify from writing and printing to filming and photography. I wish to use this third loan amounting to $450 to buy a professional Camcorder complete with its accessories. I have done my research and established that a quality professional Camcorder costs around $350. I will need to add some amount to the remaining $100 to buy a tripod stand and other important accessories.

I will be able to offer event video coverage service once i have the Camcorder. I live right within Nairobi City where social events are common occurrences every weekend (weddings, parties, sports activities). I have ready clients who are ready to buy my service, which i intend to offer at a very competitive price.

Repaying my loan will not be a problem since i will be able to borrow from my existing writing business should anything go wrong with the new business. I look forward to receiving your support in this regard. Thank you all.

Hallow. I wish to reschedule my weekly payment for 23rd August 2013 from Kshs 2,366.00 to Kshs 500.00.

I lost a family member last weekend and i had to spend some money in meeting some of the funeral expenses. This reschedule is only for this week. I will revert to my normal schedule of Kshs 2,366 from next week.

Hi to all my lenders. I am doing very well. I hope it is the same to all of you. This is just to update you on what i have managed to do with your funding. I have managed to purchase a Canon VIXIA HF R500 Full HD Camcorder complete with its tripod stand at $410. I have also received a request from a close friend to use the Camcorder at a wedding reception party to be held this coming weekend. My first loan repayment is already secured. I am already in business and this is simply because of you. I am simply happy. One other thing. My personal life and that of my family has greatly improved. I know you may wonder why i am saying this but i have to. You have made a big positive mark not only in my life but that of my family as well. A big THANK YOU.

Your observation is right. I have a running business that will support repayment of this loan. I do not have any problem in repaying back. I do not want to say much. Hello Tom,

I noticed you had a little bit of trouble getting this loan fully funded. I decided to help you out, as your primary plan seems solid and you have a backup plan (borrowing from existing business) in case anything goes wrong. You also had no problems paying off your previous loan.

I would like to thank all my lenders and in particular Schwerbelastung who loaned me a big amount. Although i went past the last due date by a few days, i have re-paid the loan in full.

I wish to reschedule my loan repayment to Friday next week. This is because i did not operate my business for the past one week because of a personal problem. I will be able to start repaying as i have been doing from Friday July 4th.

I have to indicate that my business has really improved because of the loan that i received from Zidisha. I indeed plan to complete repaying the loan earlier.
