I am from the Kikuyu tribe of Abantu, notorious for their knack of making money! I am married with two lovely children, I'm the second child of four siblings, and i grew up in Rongai- Kenya with my parents. I attended Daystar University to do a B.A. in Communication. I have also done computer packages, switchboard operations, networking, hardware/software courses, and armed with these and secretarial/typing skills i gained from a high school course i had done, I set out to find work. Luckily i did, and I have been working there for over seven years.
Financial growth has been challenging and that is why I now want to venture into Online Freelancing.
My business, simply put, is online transcription, which I commenced in May 2015. I have a day time job where I’m an Admin/HR assistant, but when I get home, after settling my family in terms of dinner and other family obligations, I set down to do my transcription work on TranscribeMe.com website, where I type away until the wee hours, to make an extra income. I do it part time during the week, but put in more hours over the weekends. I also do it during my break times at work. The income I make online, through Paypal, has proved quite substantial in supplementing my income to meet my day to day needs, and also save for the future of my family. It is also worth mentioning that since I’m paid in dollars, and the US dollar- Kenya shilling rate is currently high, it translates to more income, and is quite motivational. This has been made possible only through help from the loans I’ve received from Zidisha. I’m currently trying to diverse to other online platforms for more work, as I gain more experience.
As a transcriptionist, it is very vital to have a comfortable work environment in order to avoid back issues related to long hours of bad posture. This is why I now really need to invest in a good work chair and desk now that my transcription career has kicked off. Due to the time zone differences, the transcription work is normally available during the wee hours from here, so trying to make do with other seating arrangements in the house is proving quite challenging.
I require about 100 dollars to buy them. I have already identified the place where to get them, so I would just dash and pick them up when I get the loan. I still hold my day job which enables me to comfortably make my repayments on time, and also my transcription income can now also help cater for that too. With a comfortable work area income from my transcription will definitely soar due to the long hours I would be able to put in and this will continue to raise my family standards, and even open up opportunities for future investments.
I thank you in advance for your kind consideration to finance my loan. Be blessed.
