About Me

Josphat Mokaya holds a Bachelor's degree in Rangeland Resource Management from the University of Nairobi and a Certificate in Agribusiness Management from Miramar International College in Kenya with a bias in Vertical and Hydroponic Farming. He exists for the love of farming, for the pursuit of profitable agribusinesses and for the passion of a thriving ecosystem he seeks to help farms, business and biodiversity flourish through intensive sustainable farming, vertical farming, fair trade practices and sound policy use.

My Business

Training women and youth farmers and installing vertical kitchen gardens for them. The training involves basic Agronomic Trainings on the crops they would wish to plant in the vertical gardens.

Also actively seeking for partners and organization dealing with Food security, sustainable use of land and water resources to help mitigate the rapid change of climate which has affected farming as a whole.

Project Proposal

Let me introduce Faith and Jane from Kenya. They are part of a women group that has collaborated with Rema Agritech Ltd and are now using the climate smart and affordable multi-storey garden technology in the production of nutritious and quality African Leafy Vegetables (ALVs).
The technology multiplies the available space/land by up to 10times while efficiently using water for irrigation i.e 40litres of water per week. This has led to increased production of vegetables. Farmers are now able to produce more vegetables from little spaces/land while using little amounts water that has become scarce due to the climate change.

The two women have now installed 10 vertical gardens (5each) in their farms and have successfully harvested their first crop of nutritious vegetables. There are many women like Faith and Jane who needs to be supported with the gardens. We are targeting 500 gardens for 500women in the next two months. These women will be able to increase production of Africa leafy vegetables to be used for consumption at home and also sell the surplus to get an income. Join us in this initiative and let us it a smile in the women as we promote climate action. The price for installing a garden for one woman with ready seedlings for planting is Ksh4000.
