About Me

Samuel Zimba born in Lusaka city, the capital city of Zambia in the year 1977.

There is nothing that so great and gratifying than to have a meal bought for oneself as for me. And this has been my driving force for all that I have learnt and achieved in my life journey. Thus, am not much in agreement with handouts but rather the sweat of my body or in other terms, the fruits of my labour and ideas.

And by God's grace again I managed to do a good number of different online programs or rather courses as I was working with Society for Family Health. And this time the family started increasing the dependence on me to be giving helping hand for sustenance in most situations. Thankfully I have at least a UNZA diploma besides some other programs have done. And am currently so much inclined into doing integrated farming to raise the finance standard in the family to the level that my children wouldn't pass through my life situation exactly I did.

My Business

I have a kiosk for groceries and clothes at home which has been sustaining us. There are assorted items such electrical appliances, electrical.Besides the mentioned business which is being done at home ,I have ventured into farming for just a while now. And the farming am doing is intergrated farming. Am learning alot in the same.
So far so good. The goats population is increasing steadily at the settlement and the ducks. Am really enjoying the goat farming. I would love to mix my goats with sheep,; which am preparing.

Loan Proposal

It is this very farm land that am writing about where we can rear domestic birds such as village chickens, pigeons, ducks and turkeys. We are thinking going for live stock farming incorporatively with the fish farming at this farm land would help greatly to attain the business dream we have been having; to be self sustained. one chicken is costing about $ 10 USA. this is for the Kuroiler and Black Austropes. But as for the Buff one bird cost about $100/bird. But as at the beginning l want to start with the Kuroilers first.

If I can mange to acquire 10 hens and 3 cockerels (especially the Indian breed Kuroilers or Black Austraop) then in the next three (3) months we are likely to have about 100 on average. And after the next three (3) months these would likely to give about 600 birds with an estimation of 40% of the first 100 chick are cockerels. This is possible if there is proper management these birds i.e. the routine vaccination to avert the infections attacking these birds. This simply means that after just about six to nine months I would have progressed greatly. This is the business am applying the loan for. To make it in life some just need a part at the back while others are full of ideals but not starting capital, and this loan I strongly feel it will build this farm greatly. And if the fish farming can be handed or rather managed simultaneously progress is certain. The fish farming would need water ponds. We managed to sink the borehole in preparation for the need of water at the farm land. However, the financial handicap crept before I could acquire the submissive water pumps.

We are planning to farm the feed for our selves to feed the birds which are already at the farm land the village chickens and the ducts. If we can get about 600 hens this would bring the production to huge numbers of birds of average 10 eggs /hen multiplied by 600 to give about 6000 chicks excluding the first 100 chickens.

My business has not been doing well lately. And am not happy about because it has affected me in many ways especially with my loan. I have been up and doing. I believe all will be well soon...my current labour will soon yield results.

This is how far the i have gone with building of the house. just thought sharing my progress.

  • Samuel    Nov 21, 2019

Thank you, for the normal follow up, being made through the contacts being used, my mentor talked to me.... and as I indicated I will definitely start making payments missed next week. The delayment has been to due the delayed wages I have been waiting for , because the business, after shifting into the house we are building, has gone down. Thus, the only money am depending on as at now is my salary.
We will get paid as the promise by management by Friday next week.

The money was disbursed into my account but my zidisha account doesn't show the repayment schedule. Beside it doesn't show any indication of me receiving the money. Is everything okay?

The previous loan helped me to buy bags of cements, round bars or rather deformed bars, crushed stones, building sand, river sand, planks, steel nails and compact boards for finalizing of the ring beam.
And the other money was paid for labour for the work done. The house has now reached the roofing level. Here attached are the photos of the level I have reached.
